  26. I think that this alliance makes sense in many ways...if NewTek starts 
  27. developing new products for the "top-of-the-line" systems, then they can 
  28. take their time in perfecting them and eventually put together lower 
  29. cost, more-feature-laden versions for the less powerful systems.

  31. We've all seen how difficult it has been for NewTek to port LightWave to 
  32. more than one platform at a time...if they kept trying to develop new 
  33. products for ALL platforms at the same time, they'd be shooting 
  34. themselves in the foot.  So they should develop new stuff for the most 
  35. powerful machine first, then work the kinks out of it and release it to 
  36. the masses.

  38. As with most announcements and rumors that get circulated through the 
  39. net, people are totally jumping the gun...it's been less than 3 days 
  40. since I passed on the press release from DTI and many people are already 
  41. breaking out the munitions and attacking Topeka.

  43. My advice to everyone is to chill out, have fun with LW4.0, and wait to 
  44. see what develops with this NewTek / DTI alliance.
